Used AT&T Cell Phones
It certainly pays to shop around when buying an AT&T cell phone. It should always be on a web shopper's list to check ebay - not only will you save money on used AT&T cell phones, but the selection and availability is often the best on the web. Used AT&T cell phones are cheap and plentiful on ebay, and you can safely purchase and save an incredible amount of money.
And remember, now that Cingular has changed its name back to AT&T, you should search under both names.
Thanks to sites such as ebay, there's really no need to buy insurance for many cell phones these days. Many people don't realize that most cell phone insurance policies have a large deductible (usually $50,00). Why pay that if you can go to ebay and buy a really nice replacement AT&T cell phone, often for less than the deductible on your insurance policy!
Why mess around with a lesser model, or fewer features, when you can buy a used AT&T cell phone that it often in basically brand-new condition for way less that a new phone? And you won't have to sign up for another one or two year contract just to get a better price on the phone. Buying through ebay is very safe these days - check the seller's feedback ratings, experience, etc. before you buy, and you'll have virtually no risk.
About AT&T
AT&T Inc. is the largest provider of both local and long distance telephone services, wireless service, and DSL Internet access in the United States with 71.4 million customers. In 2005, "Baby Bell" SBC Communications Inc. purchased former "Ma Bell" AT&T Corporation and then changed the name of the company after the merger to the more iconic AT&T moniker and the T stock-trading symbol (for "telephone").
The current AT&T includes eleven of the original Bell Operating Companies, and the original long distance division. While it reconstitutes much of the former Bell System, AT&T Inc. lacks the vertical integration of the historic AT&T Corp. which prompted the antitrust suit and breakup in 1984
AT&T Mobility LLC (usually branded AT&T, and formerly named Cingular Wireless LLC) is the wholly owned wireless subsidiary of AT&T Inc. AT&T Mobility is the largest mobile phone company in the United States based on customers (trailing rival Verizon Wireless in revenue) and it also operates in Puerto Rico and the United States Virgin Islands. AT&T Mobility has approximately 72.9 million subscribers as of the second quarter 2008, and operates the largest digital voice and data network in the United States.
Among the services that AT&T aggressively promotes is its "Rollover" service, allowing customers to keep unused minutes from month to month on a twelve-month rolling cycle on its popular "Nation" nationwide plans. Beginning in July 2007, AT&T Mobility now allows its AT&T Unity plan users to have "Rollover", a service which was exclusive to the "Nation" plans.
